The South's Reaction to the Civil War
The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was started by a few men in Tennesse, they were unhappy with new laws involving slavery and freedom towards blacks. After the Civil War people were very upset with these new laws. It began as a small organization started by only six men from Nashville, and it quickly became one of the Souths most powerful groups, terrorizing people everywhere.
One of the KKK's biggest flaws was bringing violence and death among all of the south. They terrorized blacks, Catholics, and anyone who defied the decisions of their group. Bringing violence was definitely not the right answer in this case.
This relates to the NHD topic of Reaction because the Confederate states became angry at the change in laws and created the KKK to spread hate for all blacks and declare white supremacy. There REACTION triggered the KKK's uprising.
