The KKK
The first uprising of the Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee. The men who founded it were veterans of the Civil War, and of the Confaderates. Different Klans similar to this one were created throughout the reconstruction era of the United States, after the Civil War. They took part in attacks on private houses and civilians, mostly in the south. The Klan grew and grew throughout the south, and soon 5% of the nations population were Klan members. The robes and hats that they wore were used to create drama when performing their crimes and to scare anyone who saw.
